SUMMARY:  SAVING GOD is the story of convicted felon Armstrong Cane who has met Christ in prison and returns to his old neighborhood, where he tries to make a difference despite major obstacles. The production values are solid and there is significant Christian content in SAVING GOD where characters make decisions to follow Christ, pray in times of trouble and choose life over death.

IN BRIEF:

SAVING GOD is the story of convicted felon Armstrong Cane, who has met Christ in prison and returns to his old neighborhood. He takes over his father's old, decaying church only to find that the neighborhood is now filled with drugs and gangs. Through "tough love" and declarations of faith, Armstrong tries to make a difference with Norris, a young man at an important crossroads in his life.

SAVING GOD starts a bit predictably, but takes a few turns that hold interest and build suspense. Competently made, the story is a bit weak at times. However, there is strong emotion attached to the performances and so the end result is ultimately satisfying. Ving Rhames is stellar as Armstrong, the man facing his own anger while trying to live out being a follower of Jesus. The production values are solid. There is significant Christian content in SAVING GOD. Characters make decisions to follow Christ, pray in times of trouble and choose to not take another's life. SAVING GOD should be commended for portraying the story of one Christian man trying to make a real difference in the life of a community.
