SUMMARY: In MY BEST FRIEND'S GIRL, a young man falls for his cousin's ex-girlfriend, after his plan to drive the girl back to his cousin fails. MY BEST FRIEND'S GIRL is an abhorrent raunch-fest, full of foul language and crude sexual content, that's not very good.
IN BRIEF:
MY BEST FRIEND'S GIRL stars stand-up comedian Dane Cook and actress Kate Hudson. In this raunchy romantic comedy, Cook plays Tank. Tank's cousin Dustin hires Tank to work take Dustin's ex-girlfriend, Alexis (played by Hudson) on the worst date of her life, so that she'll come back to Dustin. Tank plans a masterpiece of sleaziness, but his plan backfires. Soon, Tank and Alexis, who are very attracted to each other, are carrying on a promiscuous tryst behind Dustin's back. Eventually, Dustin finds them together. As all their relationships are put to the test, Tank struggles with his own feelings for Alexis.
There is no deep plot to MY BEST FRIEND'S GIRL, which is a very unromantic movie. The majority of the humor comes from a crude, pagan worldview that is void of any moral base whatsoever. The movie contains an over-abundance of foul language and graphic, sexual content, including obscene dialogue, plenty of implied promiscuity and sexually-based nudity. The content is gratuitous, excessive and abhorrent. A young Christian woman points Tank toward some moral decisions, but the change is short-lived. Media-wise viewers would be wise to avoid this obscene extravaganza.
