SUMMARY: In OVER HER DEAD BODY, a woman's ghost returns to earth to haunt the female psychic for whom her former fiancé has fallen. OVER HER DEAD BODY is a cute romantic comedy marred by some foul language, implied sex and strong occult content, including the appearance of a ghost, attempts to communicate with the dead and an occult theory of the afterlife.
IN BRIEF:
OVER HER DEAD BODY is a cute romantic comedy marred by some foul language, implied sexual immorality and occult content. The movie opens with a details-fanatic bride named Kate being crushed to death by a huge angel ice sculpture. A year later, Henry, the bridegroom, is still mourning Kate's death. Henry's sister urges him to see a psychic named Ashley. She tries to help Ashley by giving Ashley Kate's diary. When Henry starts to fall for Ashley, Kate returns as a ghost to harass Ashley and break up the relationship.
OVER HER DEAD BODY is entertaining and not intended to be taken seriously, but even light-hearted comedy can mislead people into adopting wrong beliefs. The movie implies a pre-marital sexual encounter, discusses how women relate to a homosexual man, and uses the rite of exorcism as a joke. The movie is critical of psychics but gives a false impression of the afterlife by saying that dead people wander around as ghosts tying to complete assignments. The good news is that we do not earn salvation through good deeds but are saved by a loving God through faith in Jesus Christ.
