SUMMARY: UNTRACEABLE is an effective police thriller about a female FBI agent tracking down a serial killer who uses the Internet to promote his murders. UNTRACEABLE contains very strong violence and plenty of foul language, but it sides with the police tracking down the evil killer.

UNTRACEABLE is an effective police thriller about a serial killer who uses the Internet to promote his murders. The movie opens with FBI Agent Jennifer Marsh working the night shift in the Internet crime division in Portland, Oregon. After catching one illegal hacker, she stumbles on a local website titled "Kill with Me?," where a cat is being tortured to death. The more visitors to the site, the quicker the cat dies. Jennifer discovers that the illegal website is piggybacking on different Internet servers every second, making his site literally "untraceable." Jennifer tries to convince her boss to make an FBI file on this villain, but the boss reminds her it's only a cat. When the killer takes a human victim, all bets are off. A massive hunt to find the killer begins. Eventually, of course, Jennifer herself becomes a target.

UNTRACEABLE contains very strong violence and plenty of foul language. The tense, exciting story is about finding and stopping a serial killer, however, so the movie does have some redemptive, morally uplifting qualities. This is one thriller where American police and the American FBI are shown in a positive light.
