IN BRIEF:

THE MEDAL: CELEBRATING OUR NATION'S HIGHEST HONOR, is a wonderfully crafted television special about the Medal of Honor. The Medal of Honor is given to a very few out of the men and women who have served in the armed forces. They have done something truly courageous and beyond the call of duty. What is interesting is that although these men and women have performed valiant deeds to save their comrades in arms, the vast majority are extremely humble and most of them went quietly back home to the towns and cities across America where they grew up. The program features the stories of just a few of these men and women. Some are still alive some died in battle, and some won the medal over a century ago.

Great stories make THE MEDAL: CELEBRATING OUR NATION'S HIGHEST HONOR well worth watching. It is a captivating program, beautifully photographed, and although it is not a fast cut with a contemporary MTV approach to filmmaking, it is lyrical and well paced, and allows the stories to communicate the value of the Medal of Honor. The television movie highly recommended by MOVIEGUIDEŽ.
